A warm, colour-led brand film for an independent daily newspaper, centred on the small ritual of opening the morning edition. The campaign gives serious reporting an approachable face and was planned as a hero film, editorial portraits and short social pieces that keep the printed page feeling current.

The newspaper wanted to speak about relevance without arguing with the internet. Its strongest advantage was not nostalgia; it was the private, tactile ritual of beginning the day with reporting that had already been considered, edited and printed.
Our story began while most readers were asleep. The pressroom, bundling table and delivery route created a quiet chain of effort that ended with one paper opening in warm morning light.
We filmed overnight production with practical light and restrained camera movement, allowing rollers, folded edges and stacks of fresh pages to provide the rhythm. At dawn, the visual language softened: a kitchen table, coffee steam, fingertips carrying a trace of ink, and headlines read without distraction.
Match cuts connected industrial scale to individual habit—a paper leaving the press became a copy sliding through a letterbox; a turning roller became a page turning at breakfast. The film stayed modern by focusing on craft and attention rather than treating print as a museum piece.
One overnight shoot produced the launch film, editorial portraits, pressroom loops and concise social chapters about reporting, printing and delivery. The campaign gave the publication a warm human face and a clear position: not anti-screen, simply worth making a little room for.
